FACTS

To help students manage their tuition payment easier, UACCM offers a tuition payment plan. It is not a loan program; therefore, students have no debt. There are no interest or finance charges, and there is no credit check. The only cost to sign up for monthly tuition payments through FACTS is $25 per semester. Students may apply online at www.uaccm.edu after registering for spring or fall terms.

FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is available in the Financial Aid Office or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. This form is an application for the Federal Pell Grant and is the first step in applying for the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship, student loans, and work-study positions. The form must be re-submitted each February for the upcoming academic year.

Fall Semester

The fall semester is a sixteen-week semester which begins in August and ends in December. Courses are offered in a variety of formats, including traditional Monday, Wednesday, Friday courses; Tuesday, Thursday courses; and night courses.

Fees

Charges incurred in addition to tuition that are based upon the additional cost of a particular course, service, or the number of credit hours taken. An example of this is the lab fee associated with enrolling in Anatomy and Physiology.

FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.

Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Office in the University Center assists students in obtaining the funds required to attend college. A number of options are available, including grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study positions. There is even an interest-free payment plan that allows students to pay tuition in monthly installments. Financial aid counselors are available to answer funding questions and help complete the necessary paperwork.

Fine Arts Building

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center is a free service located in the Kirk Building near Union Station which is available for use by students enrolled in college classes and College employees during posted hours Monday through Friday. The Fitness Center includes several universal machines and cardiovascular equipment for student and employee use.

Foundation Board and/or Foundation

The UACCM Foundation was originally organized exclusively for charitable purposes under section 501 (c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future tax code, for such purposes as assisting in the development and enhancement of programs and facilities at UACCM. The Foundation sponsors numerous fundraising events throughout the year to assist with campus improvement projects which are not possible utilizing the general operating budget of the College.

FSEOG

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants are intended to supplement other financial aid received by students. These grants are federally funded with each school receiving a fixed number each year. They are awarded to a limited number of students with preference being given to students with exceptional financial need. The amount of the grants depend upon the availability of funds for each academic year. More information can be found in the UACCM FInancial Aid Office.

Full-Time/Part-Time

A student enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per semester is considered a full-time student. Part-time students are enrolled in 1 to 11 credit hours per semester. Part-time students are eligible for financial aid, although the award amount may be adjusted downward. Most students attending school on academic scholarships will be required to enroll full-time and most insurance policies will require a student be considered full-time to remain covered by a parent’s policy.
