ADULT EDUCATION ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST III – CONWAY, AR

Full-Time, Grant-Funded Position

The Administrative Specialist III works under the supervision of the Faulkner County Site Coordinator and Director of Adult Education and will be responsible for providing general program support at the UACCM Adult Education Center in Conway, AR. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:  Serve as the first point of contact in a professional, welcoming, and helpful manner to all visitors and patrons of the Faulkner County Adult Education Center.  Issue application forms insuring all forms are completed correctly and verify legitimacy of documents required for admission into the program.  Conduct TABE testing sessions. Assist the Site Coordinator with enrolling underage students insuring all requirements are met.  This position will also be required to complete training and serve as Career Development Facilitator at the Conway Adult Ed. Campus.

The Administrative Specialist III will assist in scheduling and administer the GED Ready Practice Test.  Responsible for coordinating release requirements with the Arkansas GED Testing Office.  Maintain WAGE Program data and produce reports upon request.   Enter purchase orders through DPS and submit IT work orders when required. 
In the absence of the Site Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant III will be the contact person for students and staff in the event of emergencies and program issues.  Other duties as assigned.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field; plus four years of experience in a specialized or a related field applicable to work performed.   Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the chancellor.

ADULT EDUCATION GED® Examiner– CONWAY, AR

Part-Time, Grant-Funded Position

The Part-Time GED® Examiner works under the supervision of the Director of Adult Education and will be responsible for delivering GED® testing services for Faulkner County Adult Ed in Conway, AR.   Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct GED® testing sessions as directed by the Arkansas Department of Career Education – Adult Education Division, GED Testing Service®, and Pearson Vue.
  • Ensure proper administration and integrity of GED® testing procedure.
  • Conduct all phases of the official GED® testing process.
  • Responsible for maintaining required documentation.
  • Prepare and submit paperwork and requested reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide uninterrupted attention during testing sessions.
  • Ensure privacy and confidentiality of student records.
  • Communicate with UACCM Adult Education teachers regarding student achievement.
  • Maintain a regular testing schedule that consists of day and evening hours.
  • Participate in required annual training programs and meet the approval criteria of the Arkansas Chief GED® Examiner.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  The formal education of an associate’s degree is required; previous experience administering the official GED® examination is preferred. Must be proficient in Outlook, MS Word, and Excel.

Part-Time, Grant-Funded Position

The Part-time Administrative Assistant I works under the supervision of the Director of Adult Education and will be responsible for providing general office support during evening hours at the UACCM Adult Education Center in Conway, AR. Day and weekend hours may be required.

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet current and potential students as they enter the UACCM Adult Education Center.  
  • Assist students with the completion of the Arkansas Adult Education Intake Form.
  • Conduct TABE testing sessions for current and potential students.
  • Perform general office duties.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must have a commitment to working cooperatively with all campus personnel to fulfill the Mission of UACCM, and have the ability to deliver quality customer services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The formal education of a high school diploma, GED® or the equivalent; three years of experience in an office environment is preferred. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required.

This part-time position will be assigned to the UACCM Adult Education Center in Conway, AR.  Evening and weekend hours may be required.

  • Teach basic skills/concepts in reading, language, and mathematics.
  • Provide a variety of instructional deliveries including individualized instruction, small group instruction, and whole class instruction.
  • Facilitate learning with textbooks, workbooks, lectures, computer based educational programs, audio/visual aids, hands-on activities, and peer tutors.
  • Assist students with the development of digital literacy skills.
  • Provide learning activities designed to enhance financial literacy skills.
  • Collaborate with students to document long and short-term goals based upon identified career pathways.
  • Provide students with progress reports and update individual learning plans on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records.
  • Participate in professional development activities as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
