HomeOrientation Information

Orientation

All students who meet the following criteria are required to complete a UACCM New Student Orientation prior to the beginning of their first semester:

  • First-time entering freshmen
  • Transfer students beginning at UACCM
  • Re-admitted students who have not attended UACCM for five years or more
  • Students who have left UACCM in academic suspension or probation and are returning after an absence of one fall/spring semester or more

Students will discuss orientation during their advising appointment and have multiple options to complete their orientation requirement.

On-Campus New Student Orientation

On-Campus New Student Orientation takes place in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Students will have the opportunity to meet our faculty and staff and get to know other students while learning about the campus, our services, and important student success topics.

Online New Student Orientation

Online New Student Orientation is a digital version of our New Student Orientation that is conducted through BlackBoard. Online Orientation is a convenient option for students who are unable to attend the On-Campus New Student Orientation.

Distance Education 101

Distance Education 101 is a digital version of our New Student Orientation that includes content curated for our only online students. This orientation is also conducted through BlackBoard and is only available to students who are enrolled in entirely web based courses.

Orientation is free; however, students who do not complete orientation before the beginning of the semester as required will be automatically enrolled in the ACAD0001 College Orientation course. These students will be required to pay one credit hour tuition and fees to attend and complete ACAD0001 College Orientation and may only withdraw from this course if they are completely withdrawing from the college. This is a graded course and will affect the student’s semester GPA.

CONCURRENT STUDENTS

All concurrently enrolled high school students will be required to complete the On-Campus New Student Orientation. Concurrent students will be enrolled in this orientation when they meet with a UACCM Advisor.

In addition to attending the On-Campus New Student Orientation, concurrently enrolled high school students must also attend the High School Concurrent Student Meeting. It is required that a parent/guardian attend the High School Concurrent Student Meeting with their student.
