Adult Education provides instruction to prepare students to take the General Education Diploma (GED®) test, training for people who need to develop their basic skills for the workplace, and basic skills refresher courses for students about to enter college. UACCM provides Adult Education instruction in Conway, Faulkner, Perry, and Van Buren Counties.

GED® Preparation
Each year, our Adult Education program helps open the door to a better future for hundreds of local residents by helping them earn their high school diploma equivalent. Regardless of the reason you didn't get your high school diploma, you can begin today on the path to a more capable you. We will work with you in the following areas at a comfortable pace on a flexible schedule:
- Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA)
- Mathematical Reasoning
- Social Studies
- Science
The price to take the entire GED® exam is $16 or $4 for each of the four sections. Students wanting to take the GED® Ready™ practice test first may qualify for a fee voucher to take the practice test based on TABE scores. Contact the UACCM Adult Education office nearest you for more information.
Beyond The GED®
Every student who earns their GED® will receive a tuition waiver scholarship for a 3-hour college class at UACCM. This scholarship gives GED® earners the opportunity to continue their educational journey into higher education.
Students who score 640 or above on their GED® exams are eligible for a $1,000 tuition waiver to UACCM which is renewable for up to three consecutive semesters. The scholarship must be utilized within a year of the student's GED® test date.
English as a Second Language (ESL)

Students at all proficiency levels may enroll in ESL classes at any time. Classes focus on the four components of language achievement:

WAGE™ Job Readiness Training
The Arkansas Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (WAGE™) is a free job readiness training program developed by the Arkansas Department of Career Education, Adult Education Division. WAGE™ is designed as a work-readiness program to ensure that unemployed and underemployed Arkansans have the skills necessary to be successful in the workplace. The program is based around earning certificates that jobseekers can add their résumé to show the skills they have. This program is business and industry driven. Local business and industry partners give input into unique curriculum needed for the local job market.
SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T)
SNAP E&T can help SNAP participants gain skills, training, or work experience to increase their ability to obtain regular employment. After some initial assessments, SNAP participants are set on the path to economic self-sufficiency through a package of services that include:
- Job search training
- On-the-job training
- Basic skills educational programs
- Vocational education
Eligible SNAP participants may also qualify for the following support services while participating in employment and training activities.
- Transportation
- Dependent care costs
- Safety equipment
- Supplies and books
Career Readiness Certificates
Today’s Arkansas employers are hiring and promoting employees who can read, write, compute, solve problems, and communicate well. Arkansas Career Readiness Certificates are designed to provide that proof for potential employers.

Reading and writing open the door to your personal power and self-confidence. Adult Education can help improve skills in the following areas:
- Reading Comprehension
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Punctuation
Math skills are a must in today’s workplace. Study math in an Adult Education classroom to gain confidence with the math skills you’ll need for college, a new job, or just with everyday life. Adult Education can help improve skills in the following areas:
